The MUG Event Calendar for April 2: Robin Williams, The Washington Post, Chuck Rogers of MacSpeech, Mariner Software, MYOB, Andrew Shalat and The Iron Mac Challenge
April kicks off the MUG Event Calendar with a diverse group of special speakers and topics.
Author and MacNotables panelist Robin Williams will make a presentation to a group in New Mexico (one she has a special affiliation with), The Washington Post’s personal technology columnist, Rob Pegararo, will be the featured speaker at a group in Virginia, Chuck Rogers of MacSpeech will present to a group in Florida and Mariner Software will visit a group in Chicago. MYOB will present to a group in North Carolina, and designer/writer Andrew Shalat will visit a group in California.
But that’s just the beginning. The Apple TV will make its first appearances at MUG meetings this week, but will certainly not be the last. The new version of Adobe Photoshop is on the agenda as is iWeb, PDFs, troubleshooting, Quicken, portable gadgets and much more.
For our meeting pick of the week, we would travel to Japan for “The Great Ringo Throwdown – The Iron Mac Challenge” at the Ringo Macintosh User Group. What’s it about? Eight members will have eight minutes each to do the best demo of an application or a tip. Sounds like fun to us, and we’re wondering if Chairman Kaga will be in attendance.
What’s cooking at your Mac User Group? Email your meeting information to The MUG Center and we’ll put it on the menu.
