Portland Mac Creative User Group Launches Tonight
New Mac User Groups and user groups that focus on other exciting topics that are facilitated by Apple technology are always forming. The latest addition to the family is the Portland Mac Creative User Group, who will hold their first meeting tonight.
Founder Chris Gear is inviting anyone in the area who is interested in things like graphic and web design, photography and more to join them for a very special kick-off meeting that will feature a presentation by Wacom, a look at SplashCast, a local media syndication start-up, a staffing and consulting service and more. The meeting is open to the public and you can find complete details in the meeting announcement.
“Join us for the launch of the Portland Mac Creative User Group, where we will bring together the very best of the creative community with the technology that makes it all possible. Portland is a hotbed for graphic design, web development, filmmaking, photography, artistry, marketing and ad agencies, etc. The Apple community in Portland is booming like no other, and this group will help to connect those creative minds with the latest trends, emerging technologies and collaborative efforts in and around the Portland area. The first meeting is packed with great guests, technology, and of course, networking.
We will launch in style with Wacom showing off the latest tablet technology for the creative user. Get your hands on the future of creative control, and see what you can really do with a Cintiq 21UX interactive pen display. Blending cutting edge technology with ease of use, the Wacom tablet line is the most efficient and intuitive way to work your magic.
We will also take a look at SplashCast. This Portland based start-up brings the power of media syndication to everyone, enabling you to create streaming media combining video, music, photos, narration, text and RSS feeds. While providing a level of security and trackability that is critical for content owners and creators, without limiting the content’s viral distribution potential, SplashCast is transforming the way rich media is published and syndicated.
Another great local group impacting the way the creative community connects with the world is 52 Limited, a locally owned and operated full-service staffing, placement and consulting practice for the creative services and marketing communications industries. 52Ltd. is also a strong advocate for the community with its employees sitting on boards for the Portland Advertising Federation and the American Marketing Association.
We all know Portland is virtually busting at the seams with creative talent. A new group on the scene, YAHPDX is providing the resources, events and connections that you have been missing. If you’re a designer, writer, illustrator or other creative, up to your elbows in work for your clients and your audience, this group is for you. Be there for the unveiling of this unique new project.
We hope all of you can make it to this exciting event happening at MacForce from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27th. It’s definitely one you won’t want to miss! MacForce is located at 100 SE Salmon Portland, OR 97214.”
