The MUG Center Survey: How Far Ahead Does Your Group Schedule Meeting Topics?
Developing, planning and scheduling meeting topics is probably one of the biggest challenges the leadership of every group faces. Some presentations can be put together at the last minute (and often are if a presenter cancels), but require lead time. Scheduling outside speakers can require even more.

Comments:
- As of 13 March we are scheduled thru our September meeting. We have worked hard to achieve this level of pre-planning. Historically, our programs have been firmed only a month or two ahead.
- We try for six months, but it doesn't always happen.
- We are working on a more frequent Programme announcement but so far two months works for www.snag.org. Thanks, Del Missier
- and, sometimes we change on the fly...

- We try to paln at least six months ahead, but it can be hard having final confirmation that far in advance. We always have confirmed presentations at leat 3 months in advance and up until this year almost 100% of our presenters were external, but this year we have had very knowledgeable internal presenters virtually banging down our doors to give presentations on topics they love including Pages, Keynote, iPods and other third party products. These have been far better than the "out of a can" presentations Apple Staff are forced to give, so we'll look at doing more internal presentations and they seem easier to confirm well in advance, and also great as last minute replacements ;)
Often we book out the agenda about one week before meeting. This is because of the rapidly changing technology and events surrounding it. We can get away with this because we live in a big city.
