Most user groups need money to function, even with volunteer staffs and donated equipment. Insurance, meeting place expenses, web hosting fees, telephone lines...the bills can mount up.

Comments:
- Although all costs are paid for by sponsors and receipts at meetings the annual budget is still quite significant. We would not exist if not for the sponsors.
- Meeting space costs us over $2,000 each year
- We rent an office space, which is a major expenditure.
- our costs have dropped since we discontinued our paper newsletter
- We had to raise dues to cover insurance for our meeting place
