Apple Regional Liaison Team Dispatches
"Apple Regional Liaisons are user group leaders who run successful user groups in their communities. As volunteers, they have made themselves available to help groups in their areas of responsibility thrive. They also network with groups in their regions and keep Apple informed on local needs."

Hello Everyone!
It's been several weeks since the Cleveland Apple Store opening that brought a breath of excitement to the local and not so local Mac fans of Ohio. It was a treat to meet some of you in person. The last few weeks have also brought several changes to my life and schedule, but more on that upcoming in another mailing.
Two things that I wanted to share. The Apple User Group Bulletin for November was released recently and it contains some time sensitive deadlines that I wanted to be sure to pass on immediately to all.
Again, I thoroughly recommend that each and every one of you subscribe to receive the AUGB. It is the easiest thing! That way you can be sure to receive all the news, tidbits and special vendor offers that are made available to user group leaders and their group members immediately as they are released. Here is the URL so that you can subscribe!
Those of you who signed up to receive the November mailbox are sure to have fun demonstrating for your members the wonders of the treat contained inside -- No... the mailing did not include a copy of Panther, but it didinclude the Apple Sales Tools kit with a time limited demonstration installer for "Panther Server 10.3"!.
Those of you who are familiar with Panther Server realize that the OS is quite similar to the regular Mac OS issue, with exception of the Admin and extra tools that a Server will provide. What a wonderful way to show your members what the differences are and most especially for those members who've had no experience with Mac OS Server software before. Hopefully in a future mailing...we will all see an NFR Panther copy for user groups included.
Now for some fun and competition! I have two November Mailboxes that I will send out -- at no cost -- to two lucky User Group Ambassadors (as listed on the Apple UG registry!!) who will be chosen Dec. 1st from all correct entries that answer the following "Mac's Jeopardy" question. Entries must be received by November 30th ! But only CORRECT entries will be placed in my prize selection jar, so make your best guess and send it in. Only one entry per UG. So please don't send me more than one entry or else your MUG will be disqualified as a contestant. Send your answer (or should I say "question") stating your UG, URL and contact info care of <[email protected]>
Ready??
The answer you will need to question correctly:
Bell & Howell
Think you know this one? :-D
I so look forward to seeing many of your use your best thinking cap and may the best two MUGs get a November Mailbox!
Enjoy the following news and hope that many of you will be able to make it to Macworld San Francisco. I hear UGU SF 2004 will be awesome! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it as I have a trip to NY two weeks later with the family...and 30 other high schoolers and drama booster officers. Of course, if any one would like to pay my way to SF... <grin!!>
warmest regards,
Oh and one more thing...it's nearing the end of the month! Did you know that Apple offers a special deal at it's Apple Stores on the last weekend of every month? Yes! If they have open box items available, they resell them at discounted pricing, so if you're looking to spend some hard earned pennies and like getting a bargain at the same time? That last weekend of the month is a good time to make a visit to your nearest Apple Store to check on any open box and discounted items! Happy shopping!!
You know...those "one more thing" kind of announcements...are a good thing! <smile>
