The second annual Heartland Regional User Group Conference @ Computerfest® is now accepting registrations. Hurry and register, the price is going up soon!
The Heartland Regional User Group Conference @ Computerfest® takes place Friday, Saturday & Sunday, March 14, 15 & 16, 2003 at the Dayton Airport Hotel, just 8 miles North of Computerfest®. Last year, in its first year of existence, representatives from 19 user groups from eight different states attended the conference.
The Heartland Regional User Group Conference @ Computerfest® is hosted by the Dayton Microcomputer Association, Inc. (DMA®) with support from The Association of Personal Computer User Groups, Inc. (APCUG).
The conference is designed to address interests of key volunteers or officers of computer user groups-or those who one day anticipate being considered as such. Any active member of a computer or software user group is welcome to attend the country's newest regional user group conference and will also be able to attend Computerfest® for no additional charge.
After learning about Computerfest® during a roundtable presentation entitled "Fund-raising events including Computerfest®" on Saturday, attendees will return to Computerfest® on Sunday for practical hands-on experience in the form of product purchasing opportunities, volunteer participation, door prize distribution, branded merchandise display and price-war survival techniques.
A wrap-up session is planned for conference participants at the close of Computerfest® so they may discuss what they have experienced during their whirlwind Heartland Regional User Group Conference @ Computerfest® weekend. For more information about Computerfest®, please visit http://www.computerfest.com.
Additional roundtable presentations include, "Better Constituent Service Attracts More User Group Members," "Newsletter Tips & Tricks," "Let's Get Wired: Setting Up and Running a Small Network," "Watch Out For Hackers!" and "What APCUG Can Do for You."
As a special treat, a representative of the Center of Nonprofit Resources of Ohio Inc., (CNR) will be talking at the Heartland Conference about the advantages that a computer user group can have by being a recognized officially as a nonprofit organization. During this presentation, user groups that are presently 501c(3) nonprofit organizations are likely to become aware of benefits they aren't presently receiving. For more information about the CNR, please visit their site at http://www.cnrohio.org.
Those sending their registrations with postmarks no later than Saturday, February 22 can register for only $35.00.
