2nd National MAC Users Encounter in Argentina
On September 6 thru 8 the Second National MAC Users Encounter will be held in Buenos Aires. During these three days, a series of activities will develop, including 20 charge-free seminars, 4 intensive-training workshops, a Mac museum, a users’ works exhibition, etc.
Approximately 2.000 users from all over the country are expected to join together at the premises of Universidad Maimónides, to get acquainted with the latest news regarding design and technology running on the Apple platform.
The encounter, organized by [ALDEA]mac (http://www.aldeamac.com.ar), counts on the participation and support of leading companies and related media. The closing ceremony will coincide with the Annual National MUG [ALDEA]mac* Meeting and has scheduled the participation of key regional leaders.

Maclanta Xpo is the premiere event of AMUG. It is a combination of Swapfest among Mac folks, and Vendors. There will be Vendor presentations (TBA shortly) as well as classes in OS X, Digital Photography & Scanning, Tweaking Your OS, FirstClass BBS, and many more.
We will have an Auction with many items donated by the retailers and vendors throughout the Macintosh Community. There was over $2,500 of items donated last year like ...Ecrix VXA-Tape Drive, Adobe Products, Aladdin Products and certificates for Computer Consulting, Cooking Classes and Color Consultation.

APPLE EXPO UPDATE: MUG Forum Announced: The First European Macintosh User Group Forum sponsored by Apple will be held on September 29th at 10:30 AM in Paris, in conjunction with Apple Expo. Presentations will include Pascal Cagni, Vice President of Apple Europe, Tessa Kreighbaum, User Group Program Manager, Apple Europe, MacOS X, Microsoft, 4D, Adobe and Apple Software Managers. APPLE EXPO UPDATE: MUG Dinner: There will be a MUG dinner on Friday, September 28 at Apple Expo in Paris. The event will be informal and a wonderful opportunity for MUG enthusiasts to meet and discuss options for improving the user group experience in Europe. You will need to register by emailing Yuan-Yuan Sun so that a suitable restaurant can be found. There are already commitments from MUG leaders from Turkey, Germany, France, Italy and England, as well as Garr Reynolds, Apple's User Group Program Manager. (9/5)

In spite of the cancellation of Apple Expo in Paris, European MUG leaders are going ahead with a European Mac User Group Conference! "The Phoenix Conference"will be held on September 29th at the Hotel Ibis-Alesia (49 rue des Plantes, Paris 14. Tel +31 53 90 40 00) in Paris. It will feature an opportunity for all MUG leaders who already had tickets and plans to be in Paris to meet and discuss common issues and challenges.
