Final Cut Pro User Groups are an important new genre of Macintosh User Groups. With a focus on video production and digital storytelling that appeals to everyone from the novice to the professional, FCUPGs are exciting organizations that offer training, tips and tricks to help you produce better projects.
The Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group, (LAFCPUG) has announced a special FCP user group event sponsored by the Final Cut Pro User Group Network, starting at 7 PM at the Mezzanine Club.
Featured speakers include:
- Bill Hudson of Apple, covering the upcoming Xsan
- Brian Rothschild, the Executive Director of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, one of the new attractions at Macworld Expo
- Ted Schilowitz from AJA1 to discuss the production of "Are you Going to be My Girl" by Jet (one of the tracks featured in the now-classic "profile" iPod ads)
- Philip Hodgetts of Intelligent Assistance, who will demonstrate some new options for multicam editing in Final Cut Pro.
- Jin Woo Joo of CinemaSports, with a profile of his group and some clips of past events.
- Chris Jenkins, with clips from his HD documentary, "Matador."
There will be a raffle at the end of the evening worth thousands of dollars in product. A $5 donation is requested at the door, and seating will be on a first-come, first served basis.
