Macworld Expo San Francisco 2003: User Group Guides
Volunteers from the Macintosh User Group community are once again providing guide services during Macworld Conference & Expo, including formal guided tours of the show floor each day starting at 2 PM.
At all other times the Guides will be available to personally assist individual attendees in locating specific exhibitors, products, services, and resources.
The guides will be located in the South Hall, near the Internet Cafe.
If you are new to Macworld Expo, overwhelmed by the sheer size of the show, or just can't find something you're looking for, be sure to stop by for help.

Ken Bereski
Boston College Macintosh Users Group
Ken is a Co-founder of the Macintosh Users Group of Boston College. He served as President for three years and is now serving as the group's Apple Ambassador. Ken is a December 2002 graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He is also the Apple Campus Rep at BC. Outside of the user group, Ken is pursuing a career as a Mac consultant (Kenco Consulting) and is a member of the Apple Consultants Network. In his spare time, Ken is an avid fan of BC Athletics and has been known to travel with the team whenever possible, having covered over 13 states thus far.

P.A.M. Borys
MacWoburn User Group
P.A.M. is the Founding Director of the MacWoburn Computer Group and a member of the Apple Consultants Network. Once a panicked computer wimp P.A.M. was gently guided through a number of mishaps (learning experiences) by patient volunteers at the Boston Computer Society. P.A.M. has been an active volunteer in user groups for many years and her group has teamed up with a local effort which donates Macs to South African Schools. When not volunteering, P.A.M. brings her Macintosh expertise into businesses, homes, and senior centers through her business Step by Step Training and as a Moderator on MacFixit.com. She also catches some blue sky, away from the kids time out at the barn with her new horse Jeeves.

Kadence Brodahl
Colorado State Macintosh Users Group
Kadence Brodahl is a recent graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of the Fine Arts in Graphic Design. While she only recently joined the Macintosh User Group on her campus, she has been Mac user since her very first computer. She would like to take a moment to thank Apple for all their wonderful products (the iPod rules!) and Adobe for creating all their great graphics software!

Eric Cruzada
Eric has been a Mac enthusiast since the early '90s. Recently, he has been immersed in the MUG experience, working behind the scenes with CZ Productions (and also MUG leaders and members) to assist with the coordination of events such as User Group University, Adobe and Apple User Group Breakfasts, and the Apple User Group Guide Booth at MacWorld NY 2002. He has a Bachelors Degree in Computer Arts from the Academy of Art College and is a graphic designer by trade. In his spare time he is a junior high volleyball coach and is working toward attaining his teaching credential so that one day he may educate future "switchers" and MUG leaders.

Sandy Foderick

Sandy is a founding officer and current president of AOL's original user group, board member at the User Group Network and former Chancellor of AOL's User Group Learning Center. She has met and worked with user groups across the United States and is president of Virtual Mac and member of Mini'App'Les. When not busy with user groups, Sandy is an adjunct Professor of Philosophy and a mom of four.

Lacy Fuller
Colorado State Macintosh Users Group
Lacy Fuller is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Lacy is now working as a senior level telephone support technician at the locally owned and operated Front Range Internet Inc. In addition, Lacy still does side work for Colorado State University, designing a web site for the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences about genetically altered crops. Web design is her true passion as is graphics design, and she is currently taking night classes at AIMS Community College in graphics technology to improve her skills. She has been known to do freelance web design and hopes that one day she will be able to do that exclusively. Lacy is using a G4 667 and a iBook 400 and is the only gal in FRII's support staff with a G3 running OS 10.2 on her desk (everyone else is on Windows).

Colya Kaminiarz
Apple's BC Computer Society
Colya who lives in Vancouver, Canada, has been involved with Apple user groups since the ’80s, and is a co-founder of RevMUG. Colya aims to support a strong network of user groups to ensure that MUGs remain relevant to the needs of Mac lovers, users, and owners. In his day job, Colya is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, working as a Clinical Instructor at Vancouver General Hospital, British Columbia’s tertiary care and trauma center.

Gail Murphy
Wired Women
User group leader for over 10 years, Gail has been a member of the Advisory Board for the past two years and recently joined the Apple Consultants Network. As a graduate of Norwich University in 1992 and past president of Vermont’s MacChamp User Group, she founded WiredWomen in 1996 to create ...a place where women could ask their questions and problem solve in an atmosphere more suited to their needs. Gail writes websites and administers an annual conference of 1400 neonatologists in Washington, D.C. every December.

Andy Kawecki
North Coast Macintosh Users Group
Andy used to be in the Air Force in Montana, got out and learned to sell business equipment which led to a sales career in computer and such. Got so good at IBM PC's, he became the MT MAC Users group President and hated by IBM'rs. (circa 1984-1988).
Moved to CA in '89, now helps people with insurance sales and dabbles in PC/Mac assistance of a general use nature for beginners and frustrated users alike. Never met a problem he couldn't find a solution for somewhere, somehow with some dollars.

Chise Mishima
Kinki Mac Users Group
Chise Mishima is a professional graphic designer and works as a designer and web specialist in a multimedia and web solutions corporation based in Osaka, Japan. Chise received advanced training in graphic design and fine art while attending college in Canada. She is also an active member of the KMUG (Kinki Mac Users Group) executive team in Osaka and often gives popular presentations on design, DTP, and the development of winning websites.

Merry Perry
Maryland Apple Corps
Merry has been involved with the Maryland Apple Corps since Jan. of 1983, when she got her first Apple II+, mostly as Treasurer (current position). She attended Applefests regularly, even becoming a speaker while a Contributing Editor for the Apple IIGS Buyer's Guide. She has been a census taker, sold needlework kits, then was in computer sales for 11 years . She has been a volunteer at the users group breakfasts at Macworld for several years, a MarketSource demonstrator, and an Apple guide. Merry attended Wilson College and is presently working part-time as an administrative secretary at the Institute for Policy Studies at Johns Hopkins University. She has a wonderful husband, three children (including a daughter who got married in May and no longer lives five blocks from work and Ground Zero in NY), and a granddaughter. In June her house was struck by lightning and there was a serious fire. However, no one was hurt and the losses were confined to the attic and the basement (water). Her two week old iMac ended up with a new motherboard, but no data was lost on her computers. The family lived elsewhere during the reconstruction, but has been back in the house since Halloween. Check your smoke detectors.

Carmela Robertson
Carmela Zamora (CZ) Robertson has been working with Apple user groups since 1989. She worked in Apple's User Group Department for four years and continued to work with user groups when Apple spun out the department as an outside entity, User Group Connection. In 1997 she became an independent meeting professional working with various corporations and non-profit groups within Silicon Valley, which still gave her the opportunity to work with user groups. She currently launched a new company with a couple of ex-Apple cohorts producing instructional children's videos. The company is called All By Myself, Inc. They introduced their first video "Getting Dressed" in May 2002, editing it all by themselves using Apple technology (iMovie and a Titanium G4).

Ronnie Roche
North Coast Macintosh Users Group
Current president of the North Coast Macintosh Users Group in Santa Rosa, CA, Ronnie has been an Mac User since 1994. She got her start with users groups shortly after and has always been an active member, having served as Assistant Disk Librarian and graphic designer before assuming her current position. As a member of the Apple Consultants Network, she works with individual and small business users to bring fun and productivity to computing. Her business motto is "Technology Simplified."

David Roemer
Apple Student Core @ Emory, Emory University
David works with Apple in its Buzz Marketing group and focuses on meeting the needs of the youth market and campus group community. He's a member of the Apple User Group Advisory Board and is currently studying at St. Andrews University in the United Kingdom. David founded the Apple Student Core @ Emory University in Atlanta, GA, a group that has pioneered several campus events such as iMovieFest that get students excited about doing more with technology.

Lorene Romero
North Coast Macintosh Users Group
Lorene is Past President of NCMUG. She began her association with NCMUG as a new member who volunteered to help with a fundraising event which lead to her election as President, a capacity in which she served for four years. She is currently NCMUG's Vendor Relations contact person. Lorene also serves on the Apple User Group Advisory Board as "Vendor Queen" and works closely with vendors to improve relationships between the user group community and vendors and to negotiate discounts for members of user groups. In spite of an educational background in Clinical Psychology and twelve years in the Mental Health field, Lorene decided to work with computers.

Rowan Rozanski
Colorado State Macintosh Users Group
This is Rowan's second year as the president of the Colorado State Macintosh User Group. She is pursuing a double major in History and Political Science and has a great love for comic books, computer games and, of course, Apple. Rowan was very excited to be invited to join the Campus User Group Advisory Board last year and hopes to help grow Campus Groups to fantastic new levels in the year to come. This will be her third MacWorld and UGU, and she is extremely excited to see all the great folks in San Francisco again.

Michael Seminer
Apple Student Core @ Emory, Emory University
Michael is a sophomore at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally from Melbourne Beach, Florida, this is Michael's second MacWorld in San Francisco and first time Apple User Group Guide. As a member of the Apple Student Core at Emory, Michael's position with the Core is iMovieFest Chair. This is iMovieFest's third year in existence and promises to be a highly successful event on campus. Michael's role in the event is through programming and making sure that everything runs smoothly. Besides iMovieFest the Core helps with technical assistance, perform multiple technology related volunteer work, and (of course) have a lot of fun.

Lesa Snider
Cowtown Macintosh User Group
Over the years, Lesa has served as newsletter editor, web master, program coordinator, and currently President of the Cowtown Mac User Group in Ft. Worth. She created and maintains the group’s community web site, which was received a national award at Macworld in January of 2000. She is currently developing a club HTML newsletter. Professionally, Lesa holds a degree in web development and operates a creative new media firm named Flying Fingers along with a Mac consulting/training firm named Mac-Wiz. Lesa currently serves as a consultant for the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, travels the country with the Adobe Photoshop Seminar Tour, and also occasionally writes for MacDesign magazine. When not seated at a Mac, she enjoys reading, anything aviation/NASA/Star Trek related, tactical shooting, knife collecting, and seeing the world.

Danny Wang
Colorado State Macintosh Users Group
Danny Wang is the one of the original founding members of the Colorado State Macintosh User Group (CSMUG) at Colorado State University. He is currently the Ambassador to Apple for CSMUG. Danny has been involved with Macintosh computers and Apple in general since the days of the Apple IIe. Realizing the importance of education and awareness for different computing platforms on a university campus, he started CSMUG with the Apple Campus Rep at CSU in 2000. Armed with a computer science degree, Danny is currently working as an independent WebObjects consultant.

David Wysocki

David served as Vice President of NCMUG from 02/98 to 05/02 and was first introduced to Macintosh by his sister, Anne, who worked for Apple in the mid-80s. It was love at first sight and a passion that has continued to this day. David has channeled that energy into his business, Moon Valley Macintosh, based in Sonoma, CA., a service/repair and consulting business that caters to multi-level Mac users throughout the North Bay. "What I really love most about this business is dealing with the people behind the Macs. The creativity, diversity, and the desire to be and think different."
