Macworld Expo San Francisco 2003: Mega-Macintosh User Group Meeting
Macworld Expo and The Apple User Group Advisory Board present the User Group Lounge (UGL), the place to get up close and personal with the people who make the Macintosh community exciting and dynamic. A diverse roster of well-known columnists, authors, magazine publishers, community leaders and Macintosh personalities meet with Mac enthusiasts in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. This is your chance to get to know the decision makers on a first-name basis. While there, locate your local Macintosh user group and find out why you should be involved.
The UGL will be located in Room 250/262, West Mezzanine in the South Hall, one level above the show floor. The Lounge will be open during show floor hours, and will feature a wide variety of events and speakers. Please check the schedule below on a regular basis.

With more than 15,000 members in the United States and 51 other countries, the AppleWorks Users Group (AWUG) is the world's largest computer user organization. AWUG publishes the AppleWorks Journal and provides other support services for AppleWorks.
Warren Williams, the President of the AppleWorks Users Group, is a Professor Emeritus of Educational Technology at Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Williams has written more than 500 articles published in psychological journals and technology magazines and newsletters.
Cathleen Merritt, the Director of the AppleWorks Users Group, holds Masters degrees in Education and Educational Technology. Ms. Merritt, who manages AWUG's daily operations, has published more than 350 articles in educational technology magazines and newsletters.

David Pogue
David Pogue, Yale '85, became the personal-technology columnist for the New York Times in November 2000, after having written ten years' worth of the triple award-winning Desktop Critic column for Macworld magazine.
With over 2.5 million books in print, Pogue is one of the world's bestselling how-to authors, having written or co-written six books in the "for Dummies" series (Macs, iMacs, iBooks, Magic, Opera, and Classical Music), along with the Computer Press Association award-winning "PalmPilot: The Ultimate Guide," several computer-humor books, and a technothriller, "Hard Drive" (a New York Times "notable book of the year").
In 2000, Pogue joined forces with O'Reilly & Associates to launch the Missing Manual series, whose subjects so far include Dreamweaver 4, Mac OS 9, iMovie, AppleWorks 6, Windows Me, Windows 2000,Office 2001, and iMovie 2. He and his wife Jennifer Pogue, MD, live in Connecticut with their young son and daughter.

Kristina DeNike is Lab Director for Macworld Labs where she oversees all product testing. Previously, Ms. DeNike worked at PC Magazine where she was Senior Project Leader for Networking Applications. Before PC Magazine she was Test Manager at MacUser and MacWeek labs where she helped develop and beta test multiple versions of MacBench (the former Macintosh industry product testing standard.) She has contributed her expertise to The Mac Bible, contributing to the chapter on storage. Prior to working for Ziff Davis, Kristina was with the United Daily News out of Taiwan.
Kristina has risen to the top in her field in what has traditionally been a man’s industry. Kristina helps to determine which products Macworld reviews and what criteria they use for evaluation. As Macworld is the major voice in the Macintosh market, this gives her tremendous influence over the success of new products.
