Richard Crispin & The Consortium of Canadian User Groups
The Consortium of Canadian User Groups was formed circa 1995 on the occasion of the NAUGSAW (National User Group Symposium & Workshop) '95 event held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The job of hosting NAUGSAW had been awarded to ClubMac, a Toronto Mac Users Group, but its Executive had the foresight to invite a number of other Mac User Groups from southern Ontario to come together and promote the event. Such was the success of this effort that, upon completion of NAUGSAW, the participants unanimously decided that CCUG should continue on in a role of coordinating the efforts of the regional User Groups as well as providing an avenue for the sharing of information between the Executives of any and all User Groups in Canada.
Today, the core of CCUG is made up of representatives from the Toronto, Oshawa, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Belleville Mac User Groups, all located in Ontario. Richard Crispin, current President of CCUG, has also served on the UGAC as well as his own MUGís Executive.
