Richard Crispin & The Consortium of Canadian User Groups

The Consortium of Canadian User Groups was formed circa 1995 on the occasion of the NAUGSAW (National User Group Symposium & Workshop) '95 event held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The job of hosting NAUGSAW had been awarded to ClubMac, a Toronto Mac Users Group, but its Executive had the foresight to invite a number of other Mac User Groups from southern Ontario to come together and promote the event. Such was the success of this effort that, upon completion of NAUGSAW, the participants unanimously decided that CCUG should continue on in a role of coordinating the efforts of the regional User Groups as well as providing an avenue for the sharing of information between the Executives of any and all User Groups in Canada.

Today, the core of CCUG is made up of representatives from the Toronto, Oshawa, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Belleville Mac User Groups, all located in Ontario. Richard Crispin, current President of CCUG, has also served on the UGAC as well as his own MUGís Executive.

Lynn Poos
Silicon Mountain Macintosh User Group

Lynn E. Poos is Secretary/Treasurer of the Silicon Mountain Macintosh User Group, Inc. (SMMUG) in Colorado Springs, CO, the largest active MUG in the State of Colorado. He became involved with the Mac in the late 1980's, and has been a strong supporter since. In the spring of 2001, Lynn was appointed to the Regional Liaison Team as the Liaison for the South Central United States.

Lynn retired in 1993 after thirty-four years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and moved to Colorado to relax. He immediately became active in SMMUG, and was selected to be their corporate Secretary/Treasurer. Relaxation was an alien concept and he too soon found many others things to do. He was appointed by the City Council to serve on the Colorado Springs Liquor and Beer Licensing Board, where he served until term limited in June 2001. Concurrently, he was appointed by the County Commissioners to the Juvenile Community Review Board for the Fourth Judicial District, which he chaired until he was appointed, in 1998, by Governor Owens to chair the Juvenile Parole Board for the State of Colorado, a position he currently holds.

When not enjoying her iMac at home, Sue is the End-User Trainer at an engineering, environmental and IT services company based in Waterloo which has more than 30 branches throughout North America, where she carries out internal training on various software packages using one of the "other" platforms. Sue has two beautiful daughters, a rather manly black cat, and a great old house in the downtown area of the City.

She serves on Apple's User Group Advisory Board as "Vendor Queen," working with vendors to improve relations and negotiate MUG discounts. It has become something she loves because everyone wins. In spite of an educational background in Clinical Psychology and12 years in the Mental Health field, she decided to work with computers.
